The productivity of a printing press is generally expressed in printing speed
Printing press The productivity of a printing press is generally expressed in printing speed. The expression of printing speed, for sheet-fed gravure printing presses, is expressed in sheets/hour; for roll-fed gravure printing presses, it is expressed in m/min. The structural formation and characteristics of the gravure printing press and the technical level of the automatic control system are the main factors determining the level of productivity. For example, the flat-bed gravure printing press uses an impression roller, which significantly improves the printing speed compared to the flat-bed gravure printing press, but its reciprocating movement of the plate cylinder limits further improvement in productivity, so it is gradually being replaced by the rotary gravure printing press. Currently, gravure printing presses are developing towards larger, higher-speed, and more integrated directions to maximize productivity.
